On Friday, March 28th Paragraph Members Athos Cakiades, Ryan Davenport and Gene Kraig shared their work at the KGB Bar.

Athos Cakiades likes performing and writing. He is co-founder and development director of The Queen’s Secret Improv Club (QSIC) at The Secret Theatre in Long Island City where he hosts and performs improv comedy weekly with his team Butter High. He is working with GF&Co, a theater company where he recently performed Albany in a reading of King Lear. He joined Paragraph NY to edit his completed YA novel, Zosimos of Corinth and The WInged Sandals of Skyron. He’ll love you if you follow him on twitter (@kraySequitur).

Ryan Davenport graduated from University of Miami in 2012 where he majored in Motion Pictures and English Lit. While in school he directed several short films and won the Dean’s Award at the 2012 Cane’s Student Film Festival, not to be confused with Cannes Film Festival (that one is in France). Also had film screen at the Miami Short Film Festival in 2012, which was nominated for Best Local Film. Since moving to New York City he shifted to writing plays and short fiction. Currently he’s working on blog called “Underage and Overwhelmed” featuring original short stories and prose poetry.

Gene Kraig is an artist and writer. Her book,The Sentence, A Family’s Prison Memoir, was published by Greenpoint Press in 2006. Her excerpted short stories from her memoir and the unpublished Sweetwater Years, has won awards, respectively, in the Whisky Island Quarterly and Red Hen Press. She and her daughter, Karen Kraig Nicholas, are writing YA novels. Gene has a BFA from Kent State University and began her writing career as a journalist in Cleveland, Ohio. She received two Ohio Arts Fellowships and a New York Foundation of the Arts Fellowship. Currently, with books joining other endangered species, she is making 100 great novels in sculpture as artifacts of our time. She hopes to exhibit them in a library or museum.
