Overused Words: Workshop & AMA

  • Paragraph 35 West 14th Street New York, NY, 10011 United States (map)

Very. But. Some. Now. Askance. These are just some of the overused words that likely infiltrate your writing. Okay, maybe not askance. Even so, all writers have language they use more than they should, words and phrases they reach for reflexively, often to the exclusion of a more suitable choice. This is about more than just repetition. This is about curiosity and creativity. It’s about thought. Because if you’re relying on the same old words, you may also be relying on the same old way of thinking.

Join Brenda Copeland as she discusses overused words—what they are, why we depend on them, and what we can do about them. This first hour of this craft session will be devoted to overused words. We'll finish up with a thirty minute Editorial Ask Me Anything.
