Come give a one-minute elevator pitch to a panel of experienced editors and agents for real-time Shark Tank-style feedback, or just come to watch how it’s done! Our judges will be editor Brenda Copeland (aka Ms. Wonderful), editor Brian Birnbaum (Animal Riot Press) and Timothy Schaffert, director of University of Nebraska’s creative writing program.

Our judges: Timothy Schaffert is an Associate Professor and the Director of Creative Writing at University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He is the acclaimed writer of five novels and many pieces of short fiction, and an accomplished editor.

Brian Birnbaum is the Co-Founder and Executive Editor of Animal Riot Press, an independent publisher that does not take unsolicited submissions, but this is a good chance to spark interest. Brian’s novel Emerald City was published in 2019. Brian is also a podcaster, and is brilliant on Twitter.

Brenda Copeland is an independent editor, our veteran judge, and pitch feedback master.
