Author Digital Marketing Workshop with Rogue Sunday

Lily Herman and Wandy Felicita Ortiz will be offering a workshop on how writers can develop their personal brands and better market their work online.

Lily Herman is a writer, editor, and digital strategist specializing in editorial strategy, content creation, and audience engagement. Her editorial strategy for women's health company HelloFlo earned the brand a Webby Award for Best Health Site in 2017. She was also honored by Glamour for her work building The Prospect, a website dedicated to helping underserved students get into and thrive in college; at its peak, the site was one of the world's largest college access organizations.

Previous work includes editorial and social activations for organizations such as the United Nations, Starbucks, Deloitte, Unilever, TripAdvisor, and more. Lily has personally written for numerous websites, including Refinery29, Teen Vogue, Allure, Business Insider, TIME, and more.

Wandy Felicita Ortiz is a journalist and copyeditor focused on digital communications and public relations. She is most interested in women's issues, Latinx culture, fashion, and diversity in STE(A)M. The better part of her online life has been spent writing on these topics and placing press for clients who are key players in these spaces.

Wandy has done communication and media outreach strategy for nonprofits such as the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network, Girls Write Now, the 5 Gyres Institute, and Science Debate. Organizations she has worked with have been featured in The Wall Street Journal, NPR, Forbes, Univision, The Young Turks network, and other media outlets.

She has previously worked at YouTube and Penguin Random House, where she’s gotten to meet some of her favorite authors, beauty gurus, and singers. When she’s not on a PR kick, Wandy enjoys coercing her cat to sit in her lap, and watching the sunset—preferably both at the same time.

This event is open to Paragraph members (+1 guest) and alumni. RSVP to info@paragraphny.com to reserve a spot. Lily and Wandy will be offering office hours during the day; check Facebook and your Paragraph newsletter for more info.
